Moreover, but only insofar as not to contravene the main purposes of the Foundation as specified above, the Foundation may also promote charitable, social, artistic, sporting or other purposes of public benefit...”
The Crafoord Foundation granted SEK 42.9 million for scientific research spring 2010.
The 2010 deadline for applications has passed. The next deadline for applications will be in February 2011. The form will be available as from December.
The form is now available. The application shall reach the Foundation no later than 4.00 pm on Thursday, 2 September 2010.
The main purposes of the Crafoord Foundation are to promote scientific training and research.
The purposes of the Foundation include promoting Swedish scientific training and research without a view to making a profit for a given individual person or organization. Grants for research are awarded to applicants at Lund University, Linnaeus University, Malmö University, Kristianstad University College, the University of Halmstad, Blekinge Institute of Technology, and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences at Alnarp.
In 2008, the Crafoord Foundation received about 600 applications and granted SEK 45 million (SEK 50 million in 2007) for scientific research.

The Crafoord Prize is presented in the spring of each year on “Crafoord Day” in either Stockholm or Lund. It is received from the hand of His Majesty the King of Sweden.
